Section II: Installing the Chassis 253
Replacing the AT-SBxFAN06 Fan Module
This section contains the procedures for replacing the AT-SBxFAN06 Fan
Module. The module is located in the slot on the right side of the front
panel.
Caution
Although the fan module is hot swappable and can be replaced
while the chassis is powered on, the line cards and power supplies
may overheat if the chassis is operated for more than one or two
minutes without a fan module.
Warning
The fan module has hazardous moving parts. Keep fingers away
from moving fan blades.
Note
Only an authorized service technician should replace the fan
module.
Removing the
AT-SBxFAN06
Fan Module
To remove the fan module from the chassis, perform the following
procedure:
1. If necessary, disconnect or reroute network cables that are blocking
access to the fan module.
2. Use a #2 Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screw at the base of
the fan module. Refer to Figure 169 on page 254.
