20 Chapter 3: Installing the Gateway in the Enclosure

Warning

If the iMG is going to be used to provide HPNA over coax services to the home, the installer must

verify the home coax network has been properly grounded per the NEC/Local codes. If the installer is

unable to verify the coax is properly grounded, the iMG must be directly connected to building primary

ground.

Warning

Coaxial cable screen shield needs to be connected to the earth at the building entrance per ANSI/

NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code (NEC), in particular Section 820.93, Grounding of Outer

Conductive Shield of a Coaxial Cable or in accordance with local regulation.

Note

The HPNA module on the iMG-MOD requires total attenuation between the iMG and any endpoint to

be less than 56 dB.
