The iMG 600 family supports traditional and new services including POTS, xDSL,
Ethernet, active and passive FTTH technologies. The same iMG family of products
also supports IP video, gaming and business VPNs and VoIP without compromising
QoS or network security, all regardless of the last-mile access medium.
Optimized for IP Video Streaming
Advanced support for IGMP technology ensures traffic optimization and the fast
channel-change that users expect from video services.The iMG 600 family of
gateways offers unique features to optimize and secure the delivery of video content
to customers, namely VLAN, IGMP snooping and proxying. Furthermore, video quality
can be monitored from operators NOC using the unique MPEG stream monitoring
tool.
IP Telephony
The iMG 600 series provides support for toll-grade telephony service delivered to
standard analog phones using integrated POTS and ISDN interfaces. A choice of VoIP
signaling protocols are offered, including H.323, SIP and MGCP. Major Class 5 services
are supported and VoIP interoperability has been established with leading softswitch
vendors.

High Security
The iMG 600 family offers advanced security features such as integral Stateful
Inspection Firewall with NAT, Denial of Service blocking, and Port-rate limiting. These
features combine to protect both customers and providers from packet flooding or
data-theft. Audit tracking and user authentication protect against service theft.
Quality of Service
End-to-end Quality of Service is vital for the delivery of time-sensitive services such
as voice and video.This is provided within the iMG 600 series through ISO Layer 2
and 3 prioritization techniques including Type of Service (ToS) as well as priority
tagging with IEEE 802.1p.
Lower Cost of Ownership
With support for up to 16 VLANs, 2 or 4 VoIP POTS and ISDN ports and from 3-6
LAN ports, the iMG 600 series are a highly cost-effective solution for delivery of
next-generation voice, video and data services. Multiple-protocol support lets
providers offer IP telephony based on cost and features, independent of protocol
restrictions.

The iMG 600 series features an advanced set of diagnostic and management features
that ensures maximum uptime and speed system recovery. As part of a complete
solution, the iMG 600 series integrate seamlessly with all of Allied Telesis’ end-to-end
Ethernet/IP products – ensuring interoperability and trouble-free deployment.
Lifeline POTS Support
Each iMG 600 has been qualified for use with a battery back-up system. When
deployed with a UPS, the iMG 600 will run for eight hours providing lifeline POTS
support for FTTH or xDSL customers.
