A link test is a fast and easy way for you to test the connections between
the media converter ports and the end-nodes that are connected to the
ports. If a network problem occurs, you can perform a link test to
determine which port is experiencing the problem and so be able to
focus your troubleshooting efforts on the cable and end-node where the
problem resides.
To enable or disable a link test, perform the following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, select Module status and configuration.
The Chassis Status Menu is displayed.
2. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight a module on which
you want to enable or disable a link test.
3. Press <Return>.
Note
Performing a link test does not interfere with a media converter’s
ability to pass network traffic, except for the AT-PB1000 Series
modules.
An example of the Module Configuration Menu is shown below:
4. Adjust the setting as required. Changes are immediately activated.
5. Return to the Main Menu.
