AT-MR912TX Installation Manual

Stacked Installation
AT-MR912TX-19A, AT-MR912TX-29A and AT-MR912TX-39A models are
designed to interoperate with similar models in a stacked hub configuration
using ATI’s AT-MR901 Stacking Module.
In a stacked configuration, all hubs in the stack logically appear to your
network as a single hub. This configuration will, subsequently, support up to
72 network nodes.
You cannot connect a standalone AT-MR912TX hub in a stacked configuration
unless it has first been upgraded. To upgrade an AT-MR912TX, you must
install an AT-MR901 Stacking Module in the back panel of each unit.
AT-MR901 Stacking Module
An AT-MR901 Stacking Module upgrade package includes the following:
AT-MR901 Stacking module
SCSI II Stacking cable
Stacking brackets and four (4) panhead screws with lock washers
Installing an AT-MR901 Stacking Module
1. Ensure that your AT-MR912TX is not connected to a power source.
Note
Electrostatic Discharge Precautions. Static electricity can
damage electronic components of a computer or optional equipment.
To prevent electrostatic damage, observe the following precautions:
Avoid hand contact by transporting and storing products in static-
safe containers.
Keep electro-sensitive parts in their containers until they arrive at
static-free workstations.
Place parts on a grounded surface before removing them from their
containers.
Avoid touching pins, leads, or circuitry and always be properly
grounded when touching a static-sensitive component or assembly.
2. Remove the four screws holding the blank AT-MR901 faceplate on the back
panel of each AT-MR912TX hub and store this faceplate for future use.
