AT-S26 Version 2.2.2 Management Software Release Notes
PN 613-50264-00 Rev A 3 Allied Telesyn International
Updating the MAC Address Table and the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) Table
The MAC address table and the ARP table are now properly updated when a link is lost to
an end node.
New Features in Earlier Version 2.0.1
Port Security
The management software now includes a new port security feature that you can use to
set a maximum value for the number of MAC addresses each port on the switch can learn.
Once the maximum value has been reached, the port will discard packets with unknown
addresses. This can prevent unauthorized end nodes from accessing switch ports. You can
also set a port to immediately stop learning new MAC addresses and discard any packets
from unknown nodes. For further information on this feature, refer to the section
Configuring Port Security in Chapter 3 of the AT-S26 Version 2.0.1 User’s Guide.
Clearing Dynamic MAC Addresses
The management software now contains a command for clearing all dynamic MAC
addresses from the MAC address table. For information on the command, refer to the
section Clearing All Dynamic MAC Addresses in Chapter 4 of the AT-S26 Version 2.0.1
User’s Guide.
Port Trunking
The Gigabit Ethernet switches now support port trunking on expansion modules that
feature multiple 100 Mbps or 10/100 Mbps ports. For information, refer to the section
Creating Port Trunks in Chapter 3 of the AT-S26 Version 2.0.1 User’s Guide.
Resolved Issues in Earlier Version 2.0.1
Spanning Tree Protocol and BPDU Packets
The STP algorithm can now handle improperly configured BPDU packets from other
devices. This capability reduces the possible formation of unexpected network loops in
some network environments.
Get Port From MAC Address Selection
The Get Port From MAC Address selection in the MAC Address menu now works correctly.
Operational Notes
Web Browser User Name and Password
The management software will prompt you for both a user name and a password when
you start a web browser management session if you assigned a password to the Omega
interface. The user name is admin. The user name cannot be changed.
